Here’s my 2024 audit—not just what I didn’t accomplish, but what I accomplished instead:
I didn’t run once a week, but I changed my body composition with strength training. I overcame my fear of box jumps which was a great feeling if you’ve ever attempted them.
I didn’t visit three new countries, but I stood at the foot of the breathtaking Multnomah Falls in Oregon. I finally experienced more of the beautiful states out West including Utah and Arizona for the first time.
I didn’t fall in love, but I went on a few noteworthy dates—in and outside the States. What can I say? I’m a big romantic at heart.
I didn’t release new music, but I had my first international performance during one of my trips to Italy. The audience and I did not share the same language, but we all connected through the universal language of music.
I didn’t read 10 books, but I spent the evenings over the course of 3 months studying and I earned my recertification as a music therapist. I also recently grabbed my travel advisor certification so now planning my trips has become even more fun.
I didn’t relearn how to ride a bike, but in an attempt to stretch outside of my comfort zone, I took my first pole dancing classes and let me tell you – that workout is no joke.
And most importantly:
This year, I lived in the most authentic way possible.
I learned more about who I am and I what I want.
I walked away from people and situations that no longer served me.
I invested in myself and did more of the things that truly matter to me.
Finally, I reconnected with my passion for serving and helping others.
So, when we talk about New Year’s resolutions, let’s not see them as a rigid checklist to live by.
Let’s enjoy the journey of becoming—not for the sake of ticking boxes, but for the sake of growing into better versions of ourselves.
Because here’s the truth: The year is never wasted when you stay true to who you are.
And if you don’t know who you are, 2025 will be a great opportunity to discover who Kelli is.
To resilience and joy,
Daphne
